Dog Days of Summer

Whew! It's been wet, windy and hot here in Oklahoma.  This sunflower was purchased as a pepper. I've decided I want to be the person that sticks plants in a pot and just sticks a random label on it. Kind of like my bush cucumbers that are growing over the top of the fence. LOL!  I'd also like to be the person that names paint and crayon colors, but that's neither here nor there.  I took the leap and expanded the garden another 48 feet x 16 feet. I was able to get plastic down to take advantage of the 100+ degree days. Hopefully I can get rid of the grass/weeds growing in that area. I still have more than needs plastic, but I've also got to get more posts driven and panels up. It hard to get it all done when you work off the farm during the week. I've spent several nights out after dark trying to get something done.  I'm hoping that next summer I can grow enough to share and maybe sell a bit. Right now it seems like a big goal. The egg stand is doing well. ...

June on the farm

Towards the end of June we built and put up our new egg stand.  Credit for the design totally goes to @rosehipsrewritten. Find her on TikTok and Instagram. We tweaked it to fit what we had on hand.  My favorite part of this is, with the exception of the money box and curtain, everything was either picked up by a dumpster or stuff we had on hand. Recycling at it's best.  So far we've had nothing but good comments and happy customers. I get so excited when somebody leaves a note in the box.  Otherwise, we've been busy mowing and working in the garden. Just normal stuff.
